PIVO NA NÁPLAVCE 2016

IV. Edition

PIVO NA NÁPLAVCE 2016

In addition, the organizers aimed to introduce newly established microbreweries to Prague residents, both from Prague and its surroundings, as well as from various regions of the Czech Republic. By providing a rich assortment of refreshments, including non-alcoholic beverages, conditions were created for families with children to attend as well.

The high participation of 45 breweries was derived from previous successful years, whether it was the Parukářka location in 2012 or the Vltava riverbank in 2013 to 2015. The festival has built a good reputation in this location during its four years of existence, which was reflected in the interest of new breweries to participate. The success of the tasting festival and its concept is also underlined by the fact that several beer events were already held in Prague in June before its start, which, however, presented themselves in a different style and also with significantly higher financial support from co-organizers. The “Pivo na Náplavce” festival does not aim to compare its focus and execution with other festivals held in the same year in Prague. Its focus on microbreweries and the consumption of beer from 0.3 l glass glasses or steins is a significant distinction from some of them, as is the interest in offering something extra (flea market, autograph sessions, exhibitions). The festival also differs from others by providing space for beer souvenir collectors, by serving beer brewed in a limited quantity just for this occasion, and by having rich gastronomy. The presence of microbrewery owners and brewers is also significant.

As in previous years, the festival also had its own beer available, brewed by the winner of the visitors’ poll for the most popular brewery of the previous year and named after one of the swimming styles. This time it was a light twelve-degree lager called Vltavský kraul (Vltava Crawl). The beer was brewed by Sedlčanský pivovar Krčín in the amount of 500 liters.
